Overview

Everything you work with lives in the left navigation menu. Your day-to-day tools sit at the top, and the records you work with below them, so the most-used areas stay together.

Your workspace

The top group holds the tools you use throughout the day:

  • Dashboard - your home page, at the very top.

  • Leads - enquiries waiting to be picked up. It sits directly below Dashboard because it is work arriving that needs answering today - see How do I see my leads?.

  • Diary - your appointments and schedule.

  • Tasks - follow-ups, to-dos and appointments awaiting confirmation.

  • Inbox - your office's conversations across email, SMS and WhatsApp, in one list. Being rolled out, so it is switched on for selected accounts only and you may not see it yet. A number at the end of it shows how many of your office's conversations are unread. See How do I see my messages in the Inbox?.

Sales

Sales holds more than one destination, so it opens in place rather than listing everything at once. Select it and the section expands under it:

  • Applicants - contacts registered as sales (buying) applicants, in the same columns as the main Contacts list.

  • Properties - every property marketed for sale, at any status, without the lettings side mixed in.

The section stays open while you are working inside it, and closes again when you move elsewhere in the menu, so only what you are using is unfolded. You cannot close it while you are on one of its pages - that is what shows you where you are.

Records

Below those are the records you manage:

  • Contacts - the people and organisations you work with, whatever role they hold.

  • Companies - the businesses you deal with.

Sales's Applicants are a narrower view of the same contacts, not separate data. For properties, see How do I browse and filter the property list? for the Sales > Properties view.

Not in the menu at the moment

Lettings (Tenancy Progression, Maintenance and the Compliance Centre) and the full Properties list, with lettings properties alongside sales, are out of the menu for now. They haven't gone: a link to one of them, from a record or a bookmark, still opens it.

Areas that aren't available to you yet appear in the menu but are greyed out; they become selectable as each feature is rolled out.

Your profile menu

Everything about your account rather than your day's work sits in the profile menu, opened from your avatar in the top-right corner:

Knowing where you are

The menu highlights the area you're in, and keeps it highlighted while you have a record open inside it, so opening a property from Sales > Properties, or an appointment from Tasks, still shows that area as the place you're working. A section that holds the page you are on is highlighted too, alongside the page itself.

Smaller screens

The menu looks after its own width until you tell it otherwise. Drag your browser narrower, or work in one half of a split screen, and it folds down to the icon rail to leave the page the room; widen it again and the labels come back.

Your own choice holds for as long as you stay at that size. Collapse it and it stays collapsed while you work; the menu will not reopen itself under you. Resize the window and the widths take over again, because at that point you have asked for something new. Whatever you chose last is where the menu opens next time you sign in.

It never disappears, however narrow the window gets. At the smallest sizes it is the icon rail, and hovering an icon names it, so every area is still one click away.

Collapsing the menu

The menu has two widths, and Collapse at the bottom of it switches between them. Collapsed, it is an icon rail: every area is still there, and hovering an icon names it. Selecting a section that expands - Sales - opens the menu back up rather than unfolding into a space too narrow to read. The same control then reads Expand to bring the labels back, and its tooltip shows the shortcut. [ does the same thing from the keyboard, from anywhere except a text box.

Your choice is remembered between sessions.
