How do I add a miscellaneous diary entry?

Add a meeting, callback, key collection or personal appointment to the Diary, with no property or applicant needed.

Adding an entry

Not everything in your day is a viewing or an appraisal. A miscellaneous entry puts anything else in the Diary: a team meeting, a callback, a key collection or a personal appointment.

  1. In the Diary, go to the day the entry is for and select New appointment, or click the empty slot it should fill.

  2. Choose the Event type for the entry, such as Meeting or Callback.

  3. Fill in the form and select Add.

The entry opens once it is saved, and it appears in the Diary straight away.

What the form asks

  • Title - required for a miscellaneous entry, up to 100 characters. The Diary shows it on the entry, unless you link a property, in which case the entry shows the property's address and the title appears when you open it.

  • Date and time - starts on the day you were viewing in the Diary, or the slot you clicked. The end must be after the start.

  • Negotiators - you, by default. Pick another negotiator to add it to their diary instead.

  • Property and Attendee (optional) - link a property, a contact, or both, when the entry is about one. Neither is needed.

  • Notes - optional. They are saved with the title and shown in the entry's details.

If the times clash with something already in that negotiator's diary, a warning names the clashing appointment. This doesn't stop the entry - change the time, or select Add anyway to go ahead with the clash.

How entries look in the Diary

Miscellaneous entries are coloured plum, so they stand apart from viewings (blue) and market appraisals (purple). An entry with no property shows its title in the Diary.

To change an entry, open it from the Diary and select Edit: the time, the people, the title and the notes can all be changed. To cancel it, use the ... menu. See Using the Diary.
