Overview

Any field that takes an amount of money, such as an offer, a price or a rent, understands two shortcuts so you don't have to count zeros:

  • k multiplies what you've typed by a thousand, so 5.9k becomes 5,900.

  • m multiplies it by a million, so 1.5m becomes 1,500,000.

The amount updates as soon as you press the letter. Capitals work too.

Whole-pound fields

Where a field only takes whole pounds, such as an offer on a sale, the result is rounded to the nearest pound: 1.2345k becomes 1,235. You can still type a decimal point in these fields so that amounts like 1.5m can be entered. If you leave a decimal there without pressing k or m, it is rounded to the nearest pound when you move off the field.

Things to know

  • The letter needs a number in front of it. Pressing k or m in an empty field does nothing.

  • Pressing a letter again scales the amount again, so 1.5k followed by k gives 1,500,000.
